The Story of Azadi and Inqilab March
General Elections were held on 11 May, 2013. Every
party was crying that the election was rigged. Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e
Insaf Imran Khan took a stand against pre-pole rigging. About fourteen months
Imran Khan shouted that election was totally rigged. But after long struggle
PTI Chairman announces Azadi March on 14 August, 2014.
On the other hand, Pakistan Awami Tehreek head also
took stand against rigged election. On 17 June, 2014 people were killed in
Modal Town many were injured. Dr Tahir Ul Qadri came from Canada and demanded
FIR against the culprits but the government did not. At last Dr. Qadri
announces Inqilab March. Both parties decided the same date.
Both Marches started from Lahore. It took two days
to come in Islamabad. PTI rally was on Aabpaara Market and Qadri was Suharwardi
Road. After some days both were headed towards Parliament House and stayed
there. They demanded that Nawaz should resign and there is no compromise in
this matter.
Muhammad Afzal Khan has alleged that the general
elections in May 2013 were rigged and that the people's mandate was ‘stolen’.
He said Iftikhar
Chaudhry and Tassadduq Jillani were involed in rigging the vote. He also said
that Fakhru Din G Ibrahim had shut his eyes during election. He also declared
Chaudry Nisar responsible for the rigging because he claims that how Nisar
knows that there are sixty to seventy thousand votes are unverified. Only chief
election commission is allowed to check the votes how Nisar knows? This is very
interesting question. Both parties demanding Prime ministers resign. Dr. Qadri
gave an ultimatum of 48 hours to the government and demanded to resign otherwise
there will be “Damadam Masth Qalandar” in front of Parliament House.
